Bear With Us..
This month has been absolutely hectic, please bear with us. Let's see, updates.
Well, for starters we decided to hire a caterer for the wedding. You're probably thinking-wot? Yes, this is true. We found a caterer that cooks fry bread and corn mush. After a long talk we decided this would be the best route to go.
Our plans are finally falling into place. We're still deciding on whether or not we want a DJ. I don't really know what type of music people like and I can't stand hip-hop and country, so that's scratched off the list (at least I hope it is). Plus, we're trying to go more traditional-sort of.
The hogan is coming up beautifully. I'm so glad we are there to actually help build the hogan with my family. Yes, we have been driving 6 hours up North for the past couple of weekends. It's a good thing Keem and I love each other's company so much or else we wouldn't be able to spend so much time with one other, let alone a 12 hour drive, round trip, in 2 days.

Invitations: Plan B
Today we went to the post office to mail the invitations only to be told, "No, you cannot mail these as a letter." Apparently there's a slot that is so big for letter sized mail. We really wanted to mail them, so we decided to just take off all the bows on the invitations and mail them without. Hopefully you should be receiving yours in the mail soon.

Wedding Invitations
My last post consisted of ramblings about invitations. This weekend we got crackin' and went to various locations for pictures that are to be included in the invitations. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. The pictures came out really well, but due to my perfectionism, I couldn't decide on one picture.
Here are some locations:

Got Vellum?
We finally decided on the design of the wedding invitations. It was hard to find something we both liked that included what Joaquim calls my "vision." We chose a style that we thought best represents us, but needed to be hand picked. Today I started my mission to find vellum.
I went into OfficeMax and started my search.
An employee approached me and said, "Miss, Can I help you find something?"
I said, "Actually, yes. I'm looking for vellum."
He gave me a quizzical look and said, "Valium? Uh, what you're looking for is in a different store."
After my 9 minute laugh I assured him I was looking for paper-vellum.

Moccasins for the Wedding
I am so glad my parents took time to drive me around to select buttons for the moccasins (that was the hardest part). Joaquim is getting his done in mid-July. I am so excited because we are planning full speed ahead as of now. 5 more months...stay tuned!

Hogan Foundation
Of course the lay out is specific: the door opens to the east, has eight sides, etc. As the men were doing the layout, my mother told me stories of her wedding day. I must admit that I got butterflies when I started to think about it.

Reservations for uh, don't know..yet
During late January we went to a rental place for reservations. Weird, considering we have no clue who may come, who may not, etc. I guess you can say we are fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kinda people. No worries.
The current debate is whether to bother with invitations or not. We picked some environmentally friendly invitations that produce beautiful flowers when planted (I'm notorious for not keeping cards, letters, mail in general so I assume people may not either). We may go the email route also, who knows.
